Turtle numbers are declining in Zanzibar, under threat from people who eat turtle eggs, over-fishing, poaching and pollution. Saving the turtles of Zanzibar is essential, and the love for this wonderful creatures has led to a well thought conservation initiative in Nungwi to sustain these stately sea creatures through community education and cycling nutrient where they feed and hatch. We warmly welcome you to an a eye opening visit to this paradise surrounded by pristine reefs and abundant marine life where you will experience turtles saved from poaching drawn towards the ocean and innately propelled to swim out into the open sea after being homed at the Aquarium.

During this trip, you will get the opportunity to learn more about the significance of preserving turtles in marine life, as well as the ability to feed the turtles . You will however get the opportunity to see the construction of traditional dhow boats from the ground up. This trip is always led by village residents who are knowledgeable about the area, and all of the activities are designed to help the community as well as environmental conservation. With vibrant coral, you will undoubtedly fall in love with this destination. The trip will culminate with a peaceful stroll along the white sand beaches with a deliciously Swahili meal around you.
